    Anti booze tablets
    Good day

    Hope that there is someone who could help me with info on the anti booze tablet.
    Need info about the effects of the tablet, the green and red zones as well

    There are several pills that fit within your description. One is antabuse (disulfiram) which creates an adverse reaction if alcohol is consumed while on the pill. A second class are pills that diminish the response to alcohol ex. acamprosate, nalmefene (not yet approved in US), baclofen, etc. These are used to reduce craving and sustain abstinence. These drugs have very different mechanisms. Please advise the type you are referring to, and if possible, the brand name. Be happy to provide more specifics.

    Don't know what you mean by green and red zones.

    There is no safe zone for antabuse. Even small amounts of alcohol can trigger very unpleasant (if not dangerous) reactions. It blocks the breakdown of acetaldehyde, a very toxic substance created in the liver during ethanol metabolism.

    Anyone prescribing this drug should take the time to detail it's dangers.
