Haven't had period in 2 months?
I am a 15 year old dancer. I usually have my period every months sometimes it skips, I know it's irregular but it is almost December and the last time I had my period was the beginning of September. My aunt says it's because I stretch a lot, I'm not sexually active I don't do any drugs, a couple of people have told me to take a sip of beer but it's gross and nthing. So I figure that wouldn't be it. My aunt thinks it's from stretching. But who knows. Cam you please help me I'm kind of worried.

Stretching itself won't effect your cycles, but if you are a strenuous dancer, with very frequent workouts, it may. Is there any chance that you are very underweight? That can sometimes effect cycles as well. Skip the beer idea, as it won't have any effect.

It is not uncommon for cycles to be irregular in the teen years, so it likely is just that. It is more of an annoyance because you can't really plan for when to expect it!

You could always see about talking to your doctor to give you some peace of mind.

First and foremost, is there a chance you might be pregnant? If not, then I wouldn't be alarmed just yet. Although the first poster mentioned that it is uncommon for cycles to be irregular in the teen years, they are mistaken. There are many variables that can cause a period to be irregular. Stretching is not one of those reasons, although like DoulaLC said, strenuous and frequent workouts can be. Also, being underweight is also a variable.

But there are many other reasons a pubescent adolescent might be missing her period. Cysts on the ovaries (which are common and nothing to fear) can cause a delayed release of an egg. This is usually a result of low estrogen levels--estrogen being the hormone generated to start a cycle. It is not recommended for a period to be missed more than 3 months as the lining of the uterus becomes thick and one can run the risk of cancer or other reproductive problems. If you do not see a period within the next few weeks, it is time to see a doctor. He or she might be able to ease your mind or figure out a way to regulate your periods.

Good luck! Hope this helps! And please... no beer. That won't do anything for you.

I think you may have misread my statement... :) We are in agreement that irregular cycles during the teen years are not uncommon.
