What does bone marrow activation within the left hemithorax and right hemipelvis mean
I had an Indium 111-white blood cell scan done the results are confusing here they are. SPECT-CT was performed of the chest and pelvis. The linear focus of mildly increased radiotracer accumulation within the left hemithorax localizes to bone marrow activation within the anterior left ribs. The SPECT images of the pelvis demonstrate mildly increased radiotracer accumulation within small bilateral inguinal lymph nodes, right greater than left, compatible with benign reactive adenopathy. Dual isotope imaging was performed of the chest and pelvis to help differentiate bone marrow activation from underlying osteomyelitis. Concordant In-111 white blood cell and Tc-99m sulfur colloid uptake in the bilateral humeri and femora most typical reactive bone marrow. Mildly increased In-111 white blood cell uptake within the small bilateral inginal lymph noes, right greater than left, compatible with reactive adenopathy. What does this mean?
