How can I deal with the step daughter?
I will marry a man who has a 5 year old daughter, she lives with her mum and spends time with her father, after she comes back from her mums house the girl starts to say bad words to me and to her father, also bite kids at school, how can I deal with the girl mentioning that she is the case that we all care about?
We come from different countries and my fiancé and I have the same religion, but the mother is on different religion, I am willing to help my fiancé to raise the girl up in a good way, I know she is a kid but I don't want her to have any problem with her life, she is a lovely kid,
Kindly note that when the girl is around she is very sweet to me, its just she is not after she comes from her mums house,
    Thank you very much

What religion are you? Different religions have different beliefs regarding child care.

If you as an adult had to live in one house this week and you had certain rules to live by, possibly different times to get up and to go to bed, different times to you are expected to sit down and eat and the expectation of chores could be different, wouldn't you even as an adult need time to adjust to each house hold!! I know as an adult that it would take be more then 5-10mins to adjust, come on look how many adults complain about jet lag--what do you think a mere child goes through having to go from one home to another, with a different parent, oh and those parents partners!!

This is a commitment that you are making and its not only to your future husband, but to this little girl, for she may always need time to adjust from one house hold to another, and when she reaches her teens it may get easier or it may get tougher for her.

I have this adjustment time every time my son comes back to home, but it only takes him about a day, and I am very proud of him for not giving up on US- his parents for making him go through these adjustments!!

Good luck--I am sure she is worth every effort and love you give her!!
