    You should ask for a copy of this. If the seller is legit that should be no problem.

    Agreed, while I don't normally every file mine / did you record a copy of the contract for deed at the court house ?

    But of course you can ask, and they should have no issue giving you a copy of it.

    For reference and others, that is why a safety deposit box is a must if you don't have a fire proof safe ( or both for some very important documents)
