    How to synthesis the following compound using Grignard reageant
    How do you synthesis 1-hexanol, Pentanoic acid and 5-Methyl-5nonanol from butylmagenisum bromide? Any help is appreciated.

    These syntheses are such classic Grignard reactions that they must be in your text or lecture notes. Try to work them out yourself and we will give help as needed.

If I started with t-butyl bromide react with butylmagneisum bromide, what would be the name of the impurity that could have formed during the preparation of the Grignard reageant. I get 2,2,3,3-tetramethylbutane, I am not sure if it is corrected. Any help is appreciated.
