Hi!
Me and my girlfriend are relocating to New York City from Sweden to work as freelance journalist. I've been told we need to get an ITIN and if I understand everything correct it is the w7-form we should focuse on. We have I visas (I = media). What I need help with is two things:
1. Which out of a,b,c,d,e,f,g,h should I fill in?
2. Should/can we fill out both our names on the same w7 on 1A and 1B or should we do separate? We are going to live together (not married or engaged).

If you are working legally under the I visa, you (and your girl friend if she is working) can apply for a Social Security Number with the Social Security Administration.

Try that BEFORE you try applying for the ITIN.
