    Spam?
Hello, I have a probelam with my @hotmail.it account. It has been sending spam to my contacts alone and I told my contacts to sing these emails as spams, but it didn't help. I have been asked to verify my hotmail account in the prevoius days but thing is it is not me who is sending these email. Like this one:

Don’t ever be ashamed of who you are

Submit UnSubscribe.SendMail#.427 N. Tatnall St. Wilmington DE Postal:198O1.
    Or JustUse#Unsubs-cribe+LInk: http://brandnew-home-bizinc.ru/Unsub.php

When I insert my name in Google search I get my name as member of various members lists, such as something called "ifuentec", "gadriannaroyb", and others where I never signed in!

What can I do to prevent someone harassing all my contacts? Please help

    Thank You

    Martina

Well with the web bots that are out there if you didn't have problems with spam you certainly will now...

They do nothing but "harvest" emails that people post publicly... and are sold to spammers to send more spam to.

Never click links to verify your email... I would log in DIRECTLY to your account and change your password immediately if you actually clicked on one of those "LINKS" which lets them see your login info.

And I mean go to your account ONLY by typing the proper url of hotmail into your browser so you know that is where you are really at.

I mean... think about it... they send you an email... TO your email and ask you to verify it? THink about it again... do you see how wrong that appears even at face value?

Once its out there... then its out there... I would start by tagging all the unwanted messages as spam inside hotmail. Hotmail will then send those directly to the spam folder which is automatically cleaned out roughtly weekly by hotmail with no intervention needed by you.

I would edit your post to remove your actual email, but I'm not a moderator and don't have that ability. But I'm sure one will soon.

I would as a matter of principle never openly post your email on any forum for the reason I mentioned. Its fine to use it... just don't openly post it for all to see ANYPLACE. Eventually the spam will slow down from a flood to a trickle. It may take a few months.

It appears though that this spam is being sent only from my hotmail account, not from the gmail one. But it0s the gmail one that I usually put out there...

How do you know its really from your account. I'll bet it isn't. Return addresses are easily spoofed. Just because your account is on it doesn't mean your account is comprimized.

Ok, and what would happen' if I deleted all my contacts from my contacts list? I mean, I know that is not a great deal for me... but there would be no contacts to send these spam mails to, right?

I have removed the email address to prevent any problems that may occur from opening yourself up to the entire world by placing your personal email on a worldwide website.
