Any NV laws regarding a Male security guard doing a 1:1 for a female patient?
I am a security guard at a local hospital in Northern Nevada. There is a new policy for suicide patients that states the person Watching or sitting the patient must be within arms length of the patient at all times, including but not limited to restroom use. I am concerned that I am putting myself in jeopardy for a lawsuit being alone in a patients room or restroom with a female patient because I am male. Are there any laws regarding this?

I can see where you concern is and I have searched can't find any rules regading this problem. I would think there would have to be two security guards in the room with the patient; same applies for doctor's exams and a nurse has to be present during the exam.

I know you probably value your job,and you better ask hospital administration for clear guidelines regarding this.

Sorry could give you any firm assistance.
