My 2.5 year old will be sitting playing and randomly say "me zero". When we say you're a big girl now and nearly 3 she says " no, no me zero" Any ideas what she means? It's frustrating as she says it several times a day and it's obviously difficult to try and get her to explian

By chance is her name anything close to "zero"?

She may just like the sound of it and the letters are easy for her to pronounce. Saying the number "3" can be quite difficult for many toddlers because of tongue placement for the "th" sound.

I wouldn't make a big deal about it. She may only be repeating it because it attracts so much attention. Could she have liked a character associated with it on Sesame Street? An older child called her a zero (common term)? You could ask her if her doll or pet or you are a zero, and see how vehement she is in response. If she just says no and shrugs it off, let it go. Kids try out words they have no meaning for.

As was said, it most likely is no more than liking the sound. At 2.5 she would have considerable difficulty explaining it to you. In another week she will likely have a new word you hear her say quite often.

She can say her name Victoria, or certainly attempts it. She had 4 dolls all lined up in a row today and she said "me zero" again. So I asked her what the dolls names were all of them ended up as being called zero.

As the for the counting she can count to 10 with a little help.

Im not worried at all - it was more the curiosity from myself of what does zero mean to her, or what's she trying to express to us.

She probably likes saying the word or saw something cute about zero on Sesame Street or something that she connected with. Little kids can be wacky - when my son was that age he decided one of his stuffed animals was his "wife" and named it "Mr. Fork". Go figure. Always left people dumbfounded when people asked him, "what's your elephant's name?" and he responded, "His name is Mr. Fork and he's my wife!" Much to our shock and delight he's turned into a normal teenager, with much better taste in girls.
