No, I didn't. I read the ARTICLE you linked me to. That was where I expected the convulsions you mentioned, and I didn't see any. It's true. I did not read the blog. I never do. Those screeches and hollers don't interest me. The only ordinary people I want to hear from are right here. That's all the screeching and hollering I can take.

I wonder if he had a permit for that gun? I was always told law abiding citizens with gun permits are not a threat.

Obviously if you are shooting your TV and threatening your wife then you are not a law abiding citizen.

One has to wonder if a history of bipolar disorder was in his record when he filled out the application for a permit .

Not sure what legal grounds you are using to come to that conclusion.

Not sure about rural Wisconsin .Here in semi-rural NY there are discharge laws and laws against threatening someone with a gun.

    Good Morning all.

Excon, it appears you might get your wish. According to a news report I just read, she announced to Barbara Walters that she has decided to make a run for the Presidency in '12.

    Morning, J:

I wish I could handicap the horses as well as I can politics..

Her ego WOULDN'T let her NOT run. I'm reminded, however, of a few words from Dirty Harry - "a man has got to know his limitations".

She did not announce it .However she strongly indicated she would make a run .

And Why not ? There will be plenty contenders vying for the Republican nomination. I don't see any other obvious front runner . Everyone mentions Romney... but he seems like yesterday's news to me and he's damaged because RomneyCare was in many ways a template for the disaster the Dems have strapped us with.

She could be looking at the political landscape and thinking 'why not' . Once she gets past the Republican field ;and the country experiences another year + of Obamanation perhaps the country will call on a Mother Goddess .

I am not impressed by the characterization of 'idiot'.. every Republican President since Nixon has been called one and every Democrat since JFK geniouses .
Ivy Leaguers have run this country since 1988... How they doing ?

    Hello again, tom:

Let me put it this way. Right here, on these very pages, we have our own version of Sarah Palin. His political wherewithal, like Palin, is garnered from bumper stickers and Glenn Beck. His positions on the issues, like Palin, are talking points and slogans. When scratched, like Palin, there's no THERE, there.

How'd you like HIM running things?

I think Palin quotes end up on bumper stickers ,not the other way around.
I can't speak to the experiences of other experts here since all I know is self professed resumes. Palin has confirmed experiences and a resume that are at least as impressive as the current occupant of the Oval Office.

    Hello again, tom:

Oh, I agree. However, having experienced the likes of Obama, I'd think you'd want to delve a little deeper into your candidate, than just their resume... Obama is smart, but he's weak. Palin is dumb, and strong... We just had one of those. It was a disaster.

Tom, I took the clip that I saw as confirmation she has every intention of running. Although she talks about discussing this with her family prior to making any decision, I think what she is concerned about (and rightly so) is figuring out how to overcome her history while serving as mayor & governor. Resigning as governor with 18 months left to go amid ethics probes will be dredged up very quickly once she starts to actively campaign. I think part of her solution is choosing to participate in this reality show. Good or bad, Americans love their reality TV stars and they seem to quickly forget past "mistakes in judgement".

Excon, you and others may think she is "dumb" but look at the life she has carved out for herself in the past 3 years. I think she is a very shrewd businesswoman. I very much doubt she signed a contract for that show without having final say prior to each episode airing. However, I think she is going to have a very difficult time overcoming her political history, along with an apparent lack of knowledge regarding foreign & domestic policies, and world knowledge in general. I also think she may be underestimating how many Republicans will be throwing their hats in the ring. I am looking forward to seeing a record number of people vying for the nod. I will be surprised if either Romney or Huckabee decide not to run again. Unless Obama pulls something amazing out of his bag of tricks, or the GOP nominates such a complete dud, there is no question in my mind we will be taking back the White House in 2012. And I believe all the Republican politicians who have ever dreamed of becoming POTUS are salivating at the thought they may finally have their shot.

Agreed . I don't think the nominee is obvious at this time. I have already expressed my opinion that I thought the position of chairing the RNC would be a good next step in her progression. But who listens to me ?

I see a governor emerging .I have a handful in mind besides Romney or the Huckster who would be fine Presidents(hint... a current GOP Governor just completed an Asian tour promoting business for his State)

The ethics thing is easily parried. By resigning she turned a smear job against her into a strength. Compare her honorable way of dealing with charges that didn't amt to anything against one of the pillars of the House of Reps Charlie Rangel who will avoid prosecution because the Holder Justice Dept will not pursue charges.

Just think, if Obama's every word got as much attention as Sarah's do, the Democrats might not have lost so bad.
