Are you wondering if you will get pregnant from leftover sperm that are still living in your body from sex at 12?

Have you had sex since you were 12? If so, recently?

A woman doesn't get pregnant every time she has sex. Imagine if she did, there would be nothing but children running around.

A lot of factors need to be present in order for pregnancy to occur. It takes the average couple 1 to 2 years to conceive once they start actively trying.

You're too young to be worried about this. Also, if you had sex once at 12 and didn't get pregnant, consider yourself lucky and learn how your body works before you consider having sex again.

Yes, sometimes you get pregnant the first time you have sex, other times you may have to work hard for months to get pregnant.

Please study and find out more about it, you will need to see a doctor for an exam to know if there is a reason you can't, most likely you were just lucky

Do you understand what your period is? Each cycle, if an egg is not impregnated, then the egg and some of the lining of the uterus is flushed from your system. So, if you get your period after having sex it is unlikely you are pregnant. It is possible to get some flow while pregnant though.

So, if you have been having regular periods since that encounter at 12, then you are not pregnant, nor will you become pregnant unless you have sexual intercourse again.

I do have to be curious about where (approximately) you live. I find it shameful (not your fault) that you have not been educated with the basic facts of life.

Oh so you mean I'm not pregnant because I had sex before having periods

And you shouldn't be curious... the place where I live there people believe that it's a shamefull thing if you talk aobut this stuff... even parents too

You still haven't made it clear what your circumstances are. Did you only have sex the one time when you were 12? Or have you had sex more recently? If you only had sex when you were twelve, and you're 17 now, then you're not pregnant. If you've had sex more recently, like within the past few months, then you might be pregnant. But the only way for you to know for sure would be to take a pregnancy test.

I'm shocked that at 17 you have no idea how your body works, how conception works.

Yes, it can take the average couple 1 to 2 years to conceive. Like I said, a woman doesn't get pregnant every time she has sex. The circumstances have to be right, she has to be ovulating, the sperm needs to penetrate the egg, the egg needs to implant etc. etc. Even if you have sex when you're ovulating that doesn't guarantee pregnancy.

If you've only had sex at the age of 12 and haven't had sex since then, than no, you're not pregnant. A pregnancy lasts 40 weeks. Sperm cannot live for 5 years and then make you pregnant.

Read the links that Justcurious posted, they'll help you better understand your own body, how pregnancy occurs etc.

It's up to you to learn this seeing as no one taught you what you need to know in order to stay safe.

And yes, you were lucky that you didn't get pregnant the first time you had sex. You said you didn't have your period then, but there have been cases of girls having sex before they've had a period and they became pregnant. How you ask? Women ovulate before they menstruate. It's entirely possible for a girl to ovulate, have sex, and get pregnant before she's even had her first period. Luckily that didn't happen to you, but at age 17 I'm sure you've started menstruating, and you ovulate every month if you have a normal cycle. It's time to educate yourself so you can avoid pregnancy, or disease.

    dhillonpreet.

If you have any questions, ask. That's why we're here. It's a bit shocking that a 17 year old doesn't know these things, but I understand that there are parents who don't talk to their children about sex, about reproduction, even about their growing and changing bodies. They're doing you a great disservice by not discussing these things with you.

Is there a religious reason why you haven't had sex education?
