    False Tripping GFCI and SPAS
    I have a 240volt spa, and I hooked the electricity myself. I installed a 70 AMP breaker at the main panel and purchased a spa panel from Lowe's. The panel includes a GFCI 50AMP breaker and includes extra places for lighting and what not.

    My spa requires 4 wires (2 hots, neutral, and ground). I believe that I hooked everything according to specs. My spa has worked fine with one aggravating problem. Once every few days (inconsistently) the GFCI breaker trips. I have researched this and have found that the problem is common especially in hot tubs with ozonators?!

    The only thing I have found is that I may need to purchase an expensive GFCI disconnect, which I'm not familiar with.

    What can I do to reduce false tripping of the GFCI?

    Did the neutral wire from the tub go to the neutral terminal on the GFI breaker, and then connect the breaker pigtail to the neutral bar? This is a typical mistake made.

    If so, ad you have found that these ozonators can cause problems, and if the unit is new then it should be under warranty.

    I am not familiar with the ozonators.

    I also am not sure of what you mean by expensive GFCI disconnect, the 50 amp GFI breaker should be all you need.
