    Light switches control outlets
I just puchased a house and unfortunately almost all the plug in outlets are controlled by the light switch in that particular room. There are times(like charging my toothbrush) I need these outlets without the overhead light being on. I basically want all the outlets to stay hot. Unfortunately with the light out the plug in doesn't work on either one. I have been reading several posts and I pulled the boxes out to check them. I have a single pale yellow large strand coming into the box & only the black, white, and ground to connect to the outlet. What is the best way to fix these. I am not real familiar but do quite a bit on my own so feel free to explain like I haven't a clue, it will only help me. Thank you

U have to find the power feed. This can be located in to ceiling light box or switch box.

Turn off breaker and remove switch from box but leaving it attached to wires. Describe what is in box. How many wires and how they are set up. Do the same for light.

Put everything back together before turning on breaker.

Lets us know and we can help u.
