    Tax question
'I filed my taxes this year 2010,got taxes back shortly after. Then around 4 weeks later I received a letter from the IRS stating that I didn't file my taxes for 2008 and that I owed 2,228. So at that moment I kind of ignored it. Then they started sending me letters. Finally,I contacted them and told the agent on the phone that I would like to set up payment arragments. He placed me on hold, finally he came back and said that I also didn't file for my taxes in 2005. So he said that he was going to mail out my w2 forms for that year.So I received the w2 forms around September 29,but I haven't yet filed them.(going to file sometime this week.)11-14-2010--11-18-2010.) Was wondering when does the IRS start A levy on your banking accounts and or property? Just curious!'

The fact that ypou have contacted them shows the IRS that bprogress is being made to correct your tax situation, so a levy is NOT likely at this point in time.

However, you DO need to file for both 2005 and 2008 and pay any back taxes due.

    Glad to help.

For 2008, your documented income is probably below the filing threshold.
