I'm being sued by the college I went to. I have no money. What's going to happen?
I'm being sued by the college I went to for $1,764. I have 2 children and 1 on the way. I stay at home with my children. My husband works, but makes very little money. We are considered at 'poverty level'. I don't own a home, car, or anything really. We rent an apartment and our car is in my husbands name. What will the judge rule? I know it will be a judgement against me, but what will happen if I can't pay?

More info is necessary. Why are you being sued?

Your location makes a big difference as various states have different rules but in general

They will get a judgement, it will last for 7 to 10 years but can be renewed several times ( at least) so it will stay in effect basically forever.

They can freeze any bank account you have your name on.
If you latter work they can garnish part of the pay you make.
