This is an oft asked and answered question. It pays to browse around before you to post to see if your question is already asked.
There are no laws against dating. But, you are probably under the age of consent so sexual activity is out. However, w2hat do your parent's say. If they disapprove he can possibly get in trouble for defying them.
Also how long have you been in this relationship? The difference between 15 and 18 is a fairly wide gap at your ages.

A few days. I wanted to make sure it was iligal before letting people know. Yes, it is quite the age difference. We have been friends for a while, and we both realized that we were thinking about each other in that way. We decided it was worth a shot.

So you have been friends for a while. I find this disturbing. I don't know many 17 yr olds that would be friendly with 14/15 yr olds. The two ages generally travel in different circles with different concerns. I suggest you remain just friends until you are 18 and then see if a romantic relationship can blossom.

What do your parents say? Even if a friendship is not illegal they can say "no" and have him arrested for custodial interference if he persists in contacting you.
Is that a problem?

My parents are cool with it. They like him, and trust him. :)

We met on a mission trip, and have similar maturity levels. We are dating now, and we're really happy. Thanks again for your original answer.
(Oh, and I'm now to the site, and I have no idea what you are talking about, the Answer Option? Sorry.)

Whether "it" is illegal depends on what your definition of "it" is.

Our dating. As I mentioned, sex is out. (Religious views, and general values.) Other than that, normal couple stuff.

Please recognize that often passion can trump religious views, and general values. It's just the way it works.
