    Need help with JD stx 38 replacing belts
    Need helpful hints pics or diagram of both mower deck belt replacement and also drive belt thanks

    Hi,
    Diagrams are at the OPE by Crigby link in my sig. There are two decks possible, a yellow one (30" and 38") on the older machines and a black one (38" and 46") on the newer ones. The first uses two belts and the second one uses one. The drive belt varies depending on whether it is gear drive or hydro. The gear drive has guides at the idlers and the hydro system is always under tension.
