    In my shower
    Half of the water in my symmons shower head comes out- the other half out of the spigot??

    Your diverter isn't quite diverting like it should, it can be rebuilt. Which one is yours? Bathroom Products

    Your Diverter's in the spout, is that correct? If so simply replace the spout. Good luck, Tom

    Nope... diverter is in the body of the valve itself guys and it spins side to side... ;)

    To remove the symmons diverter spindle you actually need a replacement tub/shower diverter, a 5/16" allen wrench and a 5/16" x 3" LAG BOLT...believe it or not!!

    Here, you'll remove the trim plate and gain access to the diverter. You'll unscrew the brass retainer with the 5/16" allen wrench (don't lose this) and then screw the 5/16" lag bolt into the diverter itself... just catch the threads good and tight. Then you want to YANK on the bolt while holding the body of the valve itself... should yank the spindle assembly out.

    Use a little plumber's grease on the O-RING of the new spindle and slide the new spindle into place, pushing it DEEPLY into the recess in the valve body.

    Set the retainer in place with the allen wrench and put all the trim back in place.

    That should fix this issue 100%.

    Hey Bob...

    With the symmons valves the body of the valve is the same (they cap the tub outlet of the tub/shower valve)... it's the trim that changes... ;)

    Symmons has like 40 trim sets... same valve body for each one. Finally, a manufacturer that gets it!

    Great product and, in my opinion, the most versatile and reliable tub/shower valve on the market!
