    What's wrong with my puppy?
He is 4 months old and has always been a ball of energy. But a couple of days ago we noticed he was just laying down and didn't want to get up eat or play. We brought him inside to keep a closer watch on him and he's poop was not whole instead a thick watery pool. Today he is very skinny and doesn't want to move. What should I do and how can I determine what's worng with him? Oh and he's always been outside with our older female but right before he got sick she came inside to have her puppies after a day of being without her is whenhe got sick.

Samantha, is he drinking water? If he is listless, not eating or drinking, watery stool, and getting worse, he could very well have picked up the parvo virus. Have you vetted him? Has he had his shots? Unfortunately none of us can determine exactly what is wrong without examining him. I can say that whatever is going on, it is very serious. At his age, he can't survive for very long without eating or taking in fluids. Please get him to the vet ASAP. See if someone at the vet's office is on call right now. Let them guide you as to whether you need to bring him in tonight or tomorrow morning for an examination.

Just as an FYI if you are not already aware of it, if he has contracted the parvo virus, his life will not be the only one in danger. Your mama dog's entire litter will be at risk of dying from the virus.

I know you won't want to hear this, but you need to get this puppy to a vet right now.

If it is parvo, like Just another Lemming said, it will spread to the new puppies, you could lose all of these dogs within a matter of days.

I'm not saying that it is definitely parvo (we cannot give you a diagnosis over the internet), but that's the main concern, and it's not something that can be treated at home, you need a vet.

Please keep us posted. Get this pup to a vet asap.

He might have worms. That is just a guess but you need to make a trip to the vet as soon as possible.
