eBay
I made a best offer on an item on 23rd oct on eBay and didn't hear anything - I only realised the offer was accepted when I logged ito paypal to pay for an item I had purchased for halloween at 7.3oam on oct 25th and the item I placed offer on was in basket waiting for payment - I was rushing to get out the door for work and so in my haste to complete both payments I realised too late that on this item I had not changed the delivery address from old one in March to current one. I immediately emailed the seller and late the following day received the following email " have been away for couple of days (sorry for delay) no problem Jenny. I emailed a couple of days later to see if item dispatched and on 28th oct received email from the daughter saying her mum had broken her arm, had complications with anaesthetic and was in hosp so she was helping out and item dispatched be with me in 24-48 hrs.I replied - sympathising and saying that i had had a similar experience with my own daughter who was rushed to a&e with collapsed lung the previous weekend but thanks to modern medicine was right as ninepence and asking to where the item had been sent to and briefly explained what had happened and the email areement between her mum and myslf .... nothing I emailed on 30th November pleading to be given some information and received a scathing email from Jenny herself reiterating her plight, how wonderful her daughter was to help and if she hadn't i still wouldnt know anything etc etc .. and I was given a tracking number this was 5 days after dispatch ... I checked the courier tracking service online and found the item had been delivered to old address on 29th. I left negative feedback saying - item sent to wrong address despite agreement to change it - fed cock & bull story - well if I did ... it has gone from bad to worse ever since... she has used veiled accusations of ebay T&c's to accuse me of scamming, being a liar and if i was legitimate why didnt i just go and collect the item from old address ... i have tried to say that logistically not practical ... but my husband did go to the old house and was told that nothing there .. I contacted courier to see if it had been left with a neighbour they checked and said no it was definitely delivered to house - they even gave me the name of the person who signed for it as it really was a squiggle on screen and offered to go to the house and try and retreive parcel later that day for me as the driver would recognise the person he gave it to ... I advised my husband of this and he went back again and explained that we knew it was delivered there and the chap disappeared inside and 10 mins later came out with the open box and contents inside .... I advised the ebay seller that despite her lack of communication there was a happy ending ... that the shade was perfect and hanging in my new home but this was not good enough she said that if I had not received the item then it was theft and she woud contact police and disbelieved my story and I was lying trying to obtain the goods and a refund ... I gave her the courier tel number for local office, the times I had called and who I had spoken to saying she was welcome to check the facts but she went on saying by leaving the earier feedback it had cost her her reputation of a top seller status and goodness knows how much in lost income - suing me for libel, loss of reputation, lost income etc etc ... and so it goes on ... she does not accept that all i wanted was information as to where item sent so that I could have tried to intercept it and that i just reported my opinion of the service i had received from her business - i did comment that for sucha bad accident she was very proficient at typing with one hand better than me with 2 !! .... anyway much the same kind of catty exchanges over the last few days and again for someone typing one handed she rattled off length emails one after another after another . her not wishing to be personal but apparently not being able to help herself .. I felt i was being bullied into changing my feedback... hers to me was "tried to get me to deliver to unconfirmed address - when I refused left negative - unfair" - this totally untrue - I even sent her my orig email re address error and her reply - I have asked for the proof of her refusal but funnily enough never received this. Tonight however takes a different turn... she has googled both addresses and called me a liar as the old address is registered as a business so she has written to the occupier - no owner of business to let him know how I am using his address and is he aware of my actions and also tells me that my current home is a bed and breakfast - it was once admittedly but hasn't been for a long time - the previous occupiers bought it as a business but couldn't make a go of it... and so here we are myself, my husband and son living in a cottage that was once a bed and breakfast and still showing on internet as being so... I feel this lady has now overstepped the mark of privacy in writing to someone totally unconnected to us and perhaps divulging our new address and details (our old address is being rented out to someone - the chap who took in the parcel and the owner lives elsewhere ) I would like to know if there is any legal action I can take... eBay say they have warned her but that doesn't really help me or what she says she has done and I really am aggreived now... to the point that this is making me feel sick to my stomach - so please are you able to advise, what's the best course of action to take . She feels I am totally to blame and accepts no blame and tells me so in every email - I have tried to block he but can't work out how to on eBay, I have all emails exchanged between us which hopefully are attached Amanda Glover
