    Porch light wouldn't turn on
    Thought it was a dead switch unless I got the wrong kind two switches wouldn't work white wire to white wires black to switch and another black to switch from all the other black wires simple wouldn't work the light works because I hooked up the white to the whites and the black direct to the other blacks and light turns on

    If light works by touching the lone black to the other blacks u may have the wrong kind of switch. U need a single pole switch
