My 2 year old cockapoo will not eat?
I adopted a 2 yr old cockapoo 5 days ago. I am worried. The first 2 days she ate very little. I thought she was just nervous because of the changes. On day three, she finally ate a normal porrtion of dog food, but I had to hand feed her. She would not eat from the bowl or a plate. She has not eaten again in two days, except for a few bites of dog food I dipped in yogurt. She is drinking water, and is very active loving to go for walks and running and playing. What is wrong?

She will adjust. A dog will not stay off food for long. You say she is active, etc. so I wouldn't worry. If you want to ease your mind, take her to the vet. Please don't feed her by hand, and especially not dog food dipped in yogurt. This will not solve her problem and only encourage her expect that kind of treatment all the time.

I agree with Tickle, She will come around eventually. If she seems otherwise healthy and active then it sounds like a case of just needing to settle in.

I would also avoid hand feeding for now, my parents did that with their Great Dane as a puppy and he is almost 2 now and they are still having to do it.

You can mix a little yoghurt through the food, I would even try just a flat plate. Leave it down for 15 minutes and if it hasn't been eaten, pick it up and toss it or cover it and put it in the fridge until the next day.
No healthy dog will starve themselves, they just don't want to eat when they aren't feeling comfortable.

First I would start at not hand feeding her by hand. Feeding by hand can become a HABBIT to her.

Secondly yougurt is NOT healthy for a dog try to mix her food with meats and add a little water for the flavor sinks in the dry dog food.

Last take her to a vet ask if she is OK your dog may be depressed or not hungry at times. Dogs are smart shell eat when she's starving or hungry. TRY TO TAKE OUT ALL THE BONES ITS BAD FOR DOGS.

Have to disagree there moreno, small amounts of yoghurt is actually good for them, yoghurt contains all sorts of good bacteria that can help balance the stomach, and bones are fantastic for their teeth (raw only of course).
