How do I locate the alternating valves for my septic system.
I found the distribution box. The health dept inspector suggested to switch the valve. Where would it be?

I believe that he's asking about a flow diverter, (see image). This fitting diverts the flow from one section od drainfield to another. A flow diverter is replaced by a manifold/ distribution box. If it's not there you don't have one, Regards, Tom

Tell us what issue you have and why the health inspector would pay you a visit. Diverter valves do exist, I just never have seen one in 62 years. How old is your septic?
