Are the meds working to slow them down?

When did you start taking them?

I'm curious as to why your doctor would prescribe Procardia to slow your labour? Is there a reason your doctor doesn't want you to go into labour just yet, scheduled c-section for example, or are they thinking they are just braxton hicks contractions?

Some women will have an extended early labour phase called prodromal labour.

A few things you can try and see if it helps them to ease off: get plenty to drink, relax in a warm bath, get something to eat, change activity.

If it is true labour, unless there is a medical reason to prohibit labour just yet, it is the norm to let a labour progress at 37 weeks.

Also with true labour, if the Procardia slows things down, you won't likely dilate... that would be the purpose for the medication.

As ScottGem said, definitely some questions to ask your doctor about.

I am curious about the procardia as well. I frequently give it to my patients who are less than 34 weeks, but at 37 weeks I'll deliver if there is cervical change and it takes contractions to make cervical change.
