A bladder tank does not fill with water. The pressure in tank should be 2 PSI lower then turn on pressure on pressure switch. If pressure switch reads 30PSI then pressure in tank should be 28PSI. The reading from the tank has to be taken with tank empty and water off.

The bladder in tank will rise as water is pump in and compress air above bladder until pressure switch is satisfied. If bladder tank fills with water, then the bladder has ruptured and tank has to be replaced.

This is probably the most common complaint we receive concerning water wells. The tank will fill more than it has so far when the air under the bladder gets dissolved into the water. It takes a few weeks or months for that to happen.
