    PREGNANCY!
    Hello,I am 19 years old and I think I am around 6 or 7 weeks pregnant.I went to my local GP on Thursday 14th of October but she has left now,So I seen an other doctor and he said to me that I need some iron then told me to go to the chemist and buy some iron tablets but he did'nt take any blood or anything.Then he's referred me to see the midwife on the 2nd of November 2010,But by the time I see the midwife I will be about 10 or 11 weeks and Im worried about it because he did'nt give me a prescription for Folic Acid,I've been on the internet looking at pregnancy sites and Folic Acid seems a crucial part of my pregnancy up till 12 weeks.Please could you get back in touch with me asap!     You are right about the importance of folic acid, but you don't need a prescription to buy folic acid. You can buy it directly from any pharmacy or health food shop. It's cheap, too.

    You have also been getting a lot of folic acid in much of the food you eat. Green vegetables have lots and many breakfast cereals and some bread is now fortified with folic acid.

    It sounds like you're doing your research. The have prenatal
    vitamins that you can buy without a prescription that has folic acid and iron and everything that you need in them to help with you and the baby.
