    The traps you mention are illegal traps so they are not required anywhere.

    PTRAPS (and sometimes drum traps) are required at all plumbing fixtures to keep sewer gasses from entering your home. There are a couple other traps that are still legal in some states but it is rare to see anything but PTRAPS nowadays.
