    My Cervix
    Hello Everyone!

Just wondering about something... when I go to the clinic to get a papsmear the obg/yn always seems to have a problem finding my cervix. Like for example, when they put the "thing" into my vagina they have to keep moving it around to find my cervix. Its almost as if my cervix is pushed down or something. Of course I have a cervix and they are still able to locate it to get a sample and finish the pap but I was just wondering. I didn't even think to ask the doctor because I am so anxious to get out of there.

I just want to know why its so hard for them.

Did your doctor actually say it was difficult to locate? Often moving the speculum around a bit, which is not fun, is simply to have a good placement for viewing. Your muscles naturally want to expel it so sometimes your body is involuntarily working against it.
Some women will have a uterus that is positioned slightly different as well and this can effect the direction of the uterus. If you are close to ovulation, your cervix will be higher up as well.

Ok... so this isn't a bad thing right? Lol!

The doc didn't say that it was "difficult to locate" persay, they can find it. They just do more digging to get to it.

Nope, not a bad thing... :) If there was any concern, your doctor would have discussed it with you.
