How to set up a diaphram tank?
I have an odd set up on my farm. My well is outside my barn about 100 yards from the diaphragm tank in my house. Straight up from the well is a frost free. Currently the house and the frost free are both run from the pressure in the diaphragm tank,in the house. Is this right? I seem to lose the water completely and need to reprime the pump a lot. As far as I can tell the tank is set up correct. I have an 85g tank set to 28psi empty, 30-50 switch set at that exactly. I think the problem is, is that the entire line from the well to the house is always pressured where I would think it should have a check valve but if I install one the water will not work in the barn. Any ideas?
