    Grils, would you call a stranger if he gave you his number?
    Would you call a guy you've never met or talked to before, if he came up to you after a uni lecture, called you away from your friends and told you that you were beautiful then gave you his number?
    Or would that be creepy and weird?
    What if he just wrote his number and a message on a piece of paper and handed it to you telling you that you dropped it.
    Would that be preferable to pulling you away from your friends? Or would it again be creepy and weird?

    I wouldn't call him unless we were both at the same uni and had friends in common (so I could check up on him).

    Those tatics are so old jokes are made about them. Usually, guys who try that get laughed at.

    If you have seen someone you want to get to know better, talk to her/him. If you are in the same lecture, it can be common ground to start a conversation and go from there.
