What raises are you talking about? If you mean COLA then it's the current economy that dictates that.

    You can thank Obama.

No one person has that authority, it is set automaticaly from various factors in the economy, So no one cut the raises, it did not meet the requirements to get one.

There is no vote, Bush or Obama neither one has anything to do with it

Congress did not vote to deny a Social Security cost-of-living increase this year, or next. The lack of a COLA results from the fact that the Consumer Price Index for Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers (CPI-W) declined (mostly as a result of volatile oil prices), as we explained in detail last September. Congress does not vote on annual Social Security benefit levels. They have been set by a formula set in law since 1975.

All of that political talk is just that, lies to make one party or the other look bad

It was in 1975 when Gerald Ford was President that they started the automatic cost of living adjustments (COLA) each year. Prior to that it took a vote of Congress to raise SS payout rates. The COLA is based on the Consumer Price Index for Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers (CPI-W), which was actually negative this past year. Hence by law there will be no increase this year.

You can tell politics are at play when people describe a lack of an increase as a "cut."

I agree with all the above, there was no Social Security Cut there just is no noticeable inflation so no raise is due.
