My sister wants to move with me in another state. Could she get in any trouble?
My sister lives in Fla she divorced her children's father. He does not pay any support since he gets SSI.
The divorce papers state that he may see the kids every other weekend if he wishes. Since then he has moved to Ala. He doesn't see the kids but maybe once a month when it's convient for him. She is wanting to move to PA with me. She calls him and has to ask him if he wants to visit with the children he makes NO effort to see or talk to them and financial support is a joke he tells her he doesn't owe her nothing. There is better jobs up here in PA for her and the education is better for her kids. If she moves to PA where I live is there anything he can do if she does?

She needs to get court permission to move. However, given the circumstances I think she will get it. But she will be risking a lot if she doesn't.

Agreed, since he is seeing the kids "once a month" he is keeping in contact.. Him paying or not paying has nothing to do with visit and custody rights.

I don't see a problem since he has moved out of state his self, but she will need to go to court and get it approved prior to moving.

Even if he didn't get permission to leave and he's not court ordered for support and she has full legal custody.. and the court papers say he may see them not that she has to let him see them... It's very complicated..

First, may I call your attention to the guidelines for using the comments feature found here:

He didn't need permission to move. His move did not interfere with her custody. But her moving WILL affect his court ordered visitation rights. Therefore, she needs to get court permission to move.
