If he is a UK citizen, then he is visa waiver and does not need a visa to enter the US as a visitor. He must be able to prove up his temporary visit.

Yes. Or wait for the child to turn 21, the child can then choose to petition for the father.

There are family visas, but the father has no qualifying relative to petition for him. The child is statutorily incapable of signing until the child is 21.

Well gee that makes sense, why would a child want their father in their life before they're 21? Who makes these stupid rules up anyway? Doesn't anyone bother to think that it might be just a little bit important for a father to help raise their child? I can't believe a petition can't be filed on a minor child's behalf.. no wonder we have so many illegal immigrants in this country when the government makes it this hard to even be with your children..

Its not a stupid law... Children are not capable of entering into legal contracts for perfectly good reasons. Just because its not convenient to people who think its an "easy in" for a green card changes nothing.

Children could VERY easily be taken advantage of by adults, that's why WE have such laws on the books.

I'd really like to know how you consider a parent raising their child to be "taking advantage" of them? It's an injustice to a child to keep them away from either one of their parents (unless there is a case of abuse) and no law should be able to prohibit them from that RIGHT. My child's father was stationed here to train our soldiers and has served in Afghanistan on behalf of our country and his thanks is to tear him away from his child as soon as his service is up?? Yeah, GREAT set of laws.

Many examples.(only a few as an example)... Adults seducing minor children, if a child had assets, an adult convincing a minor into signing a contract... giving away assets or at unreasonably low prices... credit cards... loans, there are a LONG list of reasons it's a great law minors aren't allowed to do such things in this country.

Incidentally... sponsors of immigrants are responsible for more than a simple signature... such as support... etc, something a child can not do.

You MAY be the kids parent... you might not be (do you have DNA proof?) you were not married to the Child's mother after all, and even if you were... its no guarantee.

After all... there are immigration laws in place... there are procedures in place. Follow them. You MIGHT get accepted if you apply and follow the rules. You certainly won't unless you apply.

The UK has some pretty strict immigration laws as well. Its even harder for US parents of UK born Children to immigrate there. And it IS the right of every nation to set its own sets of rules and laws.

Why doesn't the Mother and Child move to the UK? I'm curious even if it may not be pertinent to the question.

And Incidentally... children are used daily as an attempt to circumvent our immigration laws. It's not a new angle to game the system, but it is a VERY common one. The term for it is Anchor Babies.

None of that is personal... its just the way it is. It took me TWO YEARS to get my WIFE a green card 20 years ago.
