Iris Surgery
I'm a contact lens wearer and was googling and found a site called newcoloriris that supposedly offers people permanent eye color change AND they offer financing too.. . It's in Panama City, FL and it's like 7500 bucks.. . So, I guess my question to anyone who might know, does this all sound too good? Think this is a safe/ sanitary procedure? ANYone tried?

I've heard very little about it. But I was under the impression that it was more for blind and or/ albino patients rather than just for aethestics. I don't see the point in it. And as it's extremely new, I would not recommend it. As your Ophthalmologist about it.

I don't see anything wrong with it. Like with anything else, boob job, hair bleach, etc. just get it checked out ever so often to make sure everything is fine. Damage can ALWAYS be fixed! Just work for the money, honey! We make it to spend it. I read about another disc that is or can be placed on the iris that actually prevents cataracts from developing. Tell the surgeon to put that on too.

I'm not sure how many times this needs to be said, do not give reddies to answers that are not factually incorrect, please. My answer was not factually incorrect, and had nothing to do with Lasik. Please read the rules.

I would not get it because first of all there your only pair of eyes and you don't want to have any complications during surgery. There going to make you sign a booklet full of legal documents stating that you cannot sue them in any way if they mess up your eyeballs. Think about it ;)

Yeah, you're right, thank YOU for that, just that I have such extreme dry eye, and am a contact lens user thought perhaps it might be a good solution.. . I have glasses, but they give me migraines, and distort my vision even more, and I'm so active and forgetful always losing.. .

I don't understand how changing the color of your eyes makes you think that it's going to change your vision. This surgery is for aesthetics only.

It mentions somewhere on the site that they work the same way contact lens do - the aesthitics is just a part

I don't know it seems really expensive. I mean its 7900 for the surgery but then you need to get a plane ticket and a hotel for a week(at like 200-300 a nite). Like I said my friend got it and likes it but wishes the color came out different.

I personally think they look a little unnatural. Mainly because of the color. She wanted green and they came out turqouise/blueish. I think if you pay that much they should be the color you asked for lol. For some reason there's no way to really tell what the color looks like on different peoples eyes.
