A little faster, I think. The video doesn't do justice to the slope of the mountain

Is this an annual event ? I'd find another mountain to live on.
I'm not one of your stereotypical conservatives . I'd rather watch paint dry than NASCAR .

Yes, Tom, an annual event the population of our city doubles, triples. A second city comprised of tents and mobile homes of various sorts springs up on the mountain almost overnight. I even heard a commentator say the other day that there would be 200,000 spectators so that would make it seven times but I doubt that estimate since the event is televised nationally and will be followed by millions. It goes on for a week as they tune the cars and do the prerace practice, etc.
This isn't NASCAR these are production vehicles, what are known as touring cars, so you could say it's a testing ground for major manufacturers and a major marketing exercise

The closest thing like that we have around here is the Catskills Mountain Thunder ,which is a motorcycle festival .It's noisy but fun . I kind like the biker crowd. Just don't try to find a motel room that week.

Bikes were banned from this town a long time ago, they attract a different crowd, much less law abidding. What we get now is your average revhead who just wants to worship the car

Yeah some bikers are rough . But most of them are fun. If you are ever in Syracuse NY go to the Dinosaur Bar B Que . Bikers hang there but it's the best ribs on the east coast .

Too much mountain dew!
[ 1 Answers ]
I have a 19 year old daughter who loves mountain dew. She drinks at least 3 cans a day. She is very active (plays college soccer) and claims that the soda doesn't effect her. I think that it is making her depressed and moody. She is also having problems with her teeth, bad headaches and bad stomach...
