I cant afford my restitution in Oregon
The judge rejected my PO's letter to lower the payment to $250 a month instead of $500. I was sentenced to 20 days in jail served 17 for embezzlement. I am also serving 6 years probation. I am behind on my house payment among other bills. What is going to happen to me?

    Hello S:

There is a new law that I'm going to find for you that says if you ATTEMPT to make your payments and you simply CAN'T, then you can't be put in prison for it. If you just don't pay, they can and WILL.

What about your budget did the judge not accept ?

What is your income, do you own or rent, can you move to less costly housing, for example if you pay 5000 a month in rent, the judge may feel you should move to cheaper housing.

Do you pay a lot of other "unneeded" bills.

So without knowing budget details it is hard to say what they can or will do.
