If some one is cautioned for indecent exposure and required to sign the sex offenders list for 2 years, what happens after the 2 years? Can they get back to starting a new life? Can they have children one day? Or will social services jump in even though the offence was a misdemeanor?

His/her life starts over again after two years but I believe in some way they are still monitored and in extreme cases are only allowed to live in certain areas and even then they are posted as a 'sex offender living in your neighbourhood'.

Depends on the State, the charge, how badly the system wants its hands on you.
