    Hi rerite2...

    90s are fittings used to turn pipes 90 degrees... can be short pattern 90s or long pattern 90s.

    Short pattern 90s are most common with vents and long pattern 90s are usually for waste pipe, but there are lots of different rules in plumbing.

    Usually we try to use as few 90s as possible and instead try to use 45 degree fittings or wye fittings with a 45 degree sweep when we can.
