Is a TN VISA a non resident alien for tax purposes?
I currently hold a TN Visa and want to open a trading account. Do I have to fill in the W8 form? Am I consider a non resident alien?

The TN visa is a work visa, so you would be considered to be a resident alien.

That being the case, complete Form W-9 for the brokerage account and state that you are NOT subject to backup withholding.
