    Can child support be reinstated?
    My daughter is 18 and moved into her own apartment. The child support was stopped, as she was considered emancipated. If she moves back home can the child support be reinstated? We live in NYS.

    Does your original child support order sate at what age the child support ends? Since she's 18 more than likely you won't be able to have it reinstated.

    Since your daughter is now emancipated it can not be reversed. After the age of 18 what's done is done. It doesn't matter that New York has rules about running child support until 21. The fact remains she has been declared her adult status and now must accept the responsibility.
