    Sewer smell in laundry room
This started on the 26th of sept. I did a load of laundry and then started to notice the smell. I thought it was coming from the shower drain which is next to the laundry room so I put drano down thinking that would help but nothing. I have cleaned my front loader and made sure there is no extra water being stored in side but still nothing. Please help

    Hi Mimi...

When was the last time the sink got used? If it's been months then the sink trap needs to be filled with water to keep sewer gasses out. All traps, including the shower drain need to be kept wetted even when not in use for this reason.

In bathrooms that get little use it is a good idea to fill the traps monthly (just run faucets for 10 seconds) and use the faucets/valves so the ORINGS and other seals do not get dried out and stuck.

If you have a floor drain all of the above applies as well.

It could also be a venting issue... perhaps, but before I go into that let me know more, OK?
