How long does it take to fall out of love?
A couple months ago I began dating this guy. Unfortunately it only lasted a little over two months, but once I lost him I realized how much I liked him, maybe even loved him. What really made me realize that was how different it had felt. I have been through other relationships and nothing was ever this painful. I cried every night for days. The most painful part was we had made plans to go to the movies before we broke up, but we decided to go anyway. On the way home he kissed me. I felt on top of the world, I thought we were getting back together. I guess I was wrong because he never contacted or talked to me hardly ever after that or anything. Seven months have gone by now and not a day goes by where I don't think about him. I figuered over the summer I would get over him but I kept seeing him everywhere. I am determined to get him back because, well, I am still in love with him. So I was just curious, if my determination to get him back falls through, how long does it take to fall out of love?

Sometimes it takes a day, and sometimes it takes months. But if you are determined to get him back even though he has not contacted you in 7 months, then it could take a lifetime. Another words, you will "fall out of love" when you finally decide to let it go and accept that he is not coming back.

    Hi :)

I just remembered "french kiss" dialogue where in he says one day you will forget the blue eyes and poof one day it will be gone, you won't even remember his face :)..

I guess we all are romantic and usually only when we feel we won't get that kind of love it beomes so important.

What I would do is to see a lot of romantic movies, read books, go out with friends , take a hobby...

    See cindrella :)!!

When the right person walks into your life all this will fade away. Good luck

beachloverjohn answered your question quite well. I just have one thing to add.

You have to be in love to fall out of love.

Sometimes, when a relationship doesn't work out, we build it up in our minds to be more than it was. We weave a fantasy around the reality. It can be extremely difficult to let go of a fantasy because first you have to recongnize it for what it is.

And I believe that in some cases falling out of love is impossible.
It usually only happens when there is absolutely no hope of a union, or relationship
If the people involved have to interact with each other at all.

I finally did fall out of love, but it took longer than I want to admit.
    Or will admit .

It was one of the most difficult situations I ever had to deal with.

I would rather get dragged naked through a cactus patch
With my mouth around the exhaust pipe of a bus...

Than feel like that situation made me feel.
