1417? sounds like you are in an extremely small Country to have only 4 digits.
Can you give that number a custom ringtone and select none?

1471... is a number you can call to see who your last caller was. It either tells you the number/says caller with held number/or no number stored... the no number stored is international and therefore annoying as I want to bar these as it will be tele sales anyway.

Honestly you can't, except by changing your number or subscribing to BT anonymous caller reject.

Thanks for the reply , but it's a business number and I'm not with BT now. I was paying to block number withheld calls ,but it doesn't stop international calls. I know it's a computer call... well I guess it is. It still is so annoying when I have to leave what I'm doing to have the phone "put down as I answer" grrrrr!

These numbers are used a lot by telemarketerrs and yes they are seriously annoying.
Might be worth calling your current supplier and see if there's anything they can suggest.

A couple of years ago I got repeated calls from a telemarketer, and I called my Cell Phone Provider and asked them to block ALL INCOMING CALLS that are anonomous or private, the said sure. After that I called my own number and found ALL numbers were blocked. They don't give a shix. It is minutes on their cellular. I have yet to find a cell company that has.
Personally I would ****can all in the Employees in the FTC. The can't control unwanted, unanomous calls, seems like a worthless group. If I am elected, We will fine these piece of craps and Make money, Not TERRRORIZE fellow Americans.
Yes, I am on the DO NOT CALL LIST.
