Tax claiming rotation of your child.
My husband joint custody of his 3 year old daughter. He pays 500 a month in child support in addition to having her under his insurance and paying all her dr. bills. The mother keeps the child most of the time and has claimed the child every year sense birth. We are wanting to take her to court to set up alternating every other year to claim the child. Will this be a fair fight or does the mother have the advantage because she keeps the child the majority of the time. Even though my husband most likely pays nearly all of the child's necessities and insurance.

The IRS recently passed new guidelines for who can claim a child of divorced parents as a dependent.
