    molar, you are not stating anything that the medical community here doesn't know already. A seriously infected tooth can cause multiple problems throughout the body, left untreated.

    I don't know how anyone can go for a long period without knowing something is wrong in their mouth. The taste, smell and pain would be enough for them to know what can't be avoided.

    Fortunately here in the US and Canada that rarely happens unless the person is challenged mentally or physically or doesn't have any means of having their needs met.

    Thanks for the information, but I have had four completely successful root canals and at nearly 68 have all of my original teeth.
