A number of things can cause excessive hair loss. Have you had an illness or major surgery recently?

Hair loss can be related to the stress, hormonal problems, thyroid problems, some medications, some scalp infections, or can be an early sign of a disease.

With that being said, I’d suggest a check up at the doctor.

Have you had a baby recently? There's usually a point a couple of months after the baby is born when your hair starts to shed like crazy. That's normal, and it stops before you turn bald.
