Horizontal and vertical cracks in first floor ceiling of townhome what to do
Cracks run both directions in ceiling on first floor, but on only one side of the home. Cabinets are pulling away from wall and molding on top of cabinets has broken apart. There are about 6 different cracks all measuring 6-8 inches. Have heard popping in this area lately. What do I need to do? Also, outside was recently painted, so no cracks will show there.

The first thing is to remove very thing from inside cabinets to reduce weight. Support cabinets with pieces of wood from counter top to bottom of face of cab, for safety.

If cabinets where mounted through the backing and not the nailing strip on inside (at top of cab), then is possible back is ripping out of cab.

If cab mounted through nailer, then installer did not attach cabs to studs. Cabinets should be installed with #8 screws 2 1/2'' long with a fender washer to increase holding area.

Can u post a picture so we can be more direct with answer.
