I am trying to install a new axle spring on a JD 1518 batwing mower. Any suggestions?
I have tried pry bars and a bottle jack but can't get it over the bottom knob.

Thanks. We used a come-along attached to each end and moved the axle with spring into place. I didn't see your attachment until now, but it is similar to the one I had from JD which showed the spring as #16. Thanks again for the info.

I have a riding lawn mower and the rear axle is sliding out. How do I go about repairing this? It appears to be held in with a clip at the end of the axle which would require me taking the hydrostat rear end apart to fix. Any advice or information would be very helpful. Thanks
