    Theaft under 5000 dollars
    K I'm 20 and I made a stupid mistake by stealling an item under 5000 dollars, I want to know if the charge will cause trouble in 5 years because I'm going to university for a engineering degree and a criminial record would be a dream crusher. This is my first time too.

    Yes, if you are not accepted for diversion, this will stay on your record. Depending on where/how you are licensed it can be located on a background check (even if you do get into the diversion program).
